2024–2025 ACADEMIC YEAR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DEPARTMENT PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Program Educational Objective (PEO) Performance Indicators (PI)
PEO1 – Graduates demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the profession in order to protect, promote, and maintain the health and quality of life of individuals, families, and society. PI1 – 60% of graduates are employed as dietitians or academics in fields related to Nutrition and Dietetics within four (4) years.
PEO2 – Graduates adopt lifelong learning, follow current scientific and technological developments in their profession, and participate in research, scientific, and community-oriented activities. PI2 – 5% of graduates participate in at least one professional or personal development program (e.g., certificate, course, congress, seminar) within four (4) years.
PI3 – 5% of graduates pursue postgraduate (graduate-level) education within four (4) years.
PI4 – 5% of graduates regularly follow scientific publications in the field of nutrition and health.
PI5 – 5% of graduates participate in research projects or similar activities.
PEO3 – Graduates act in accordance with legal regulations, embrace professional ethics and universal values, and function effectively as members of the healthcare team with strong communication skills. PI6 – 3% of graduates participate in policy development or related activities.
PI7 – 60% of graduates apply professional values and ethical principles in their nutrition practices.
PI8 – The satisfaction rate of individuals receiving services from graduates is 60%.
PI9 – 60% of graduates demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
PI10 – The satisfaction rate of team members working with graduates is above 60%.

2023–2024 ACADEMIC YEAR NUTRITION AND DIETETICS DEPARTMENT PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Dietetics organizes the plan and the program of individual and intuitional catering for growth, development and to sustain a healthy life for all people. For these purposes it carries on research on health problems related with nutrition and diet. It also ensures the use of food sources both economically and in a way that is proper to the health laws by food inspection, by informing public and raising awareness. This profession plans natural and curative diet programs, develops instructional programs and provides training on nutrition and dietetics.

Rising importance of nutrition on growth and development, life-long protection of health, improvement of quality of life and treatment of health problems has resulted in the increasing requirement for nutritionists. The objective of our department is to train our students to be qualified to work as;

Clinical nutritionist,

Polyclinic nutritionist,

Executive nutritionist,

Public health nutritionist,

Consultant nutritionist,

Trainer
